Mold Exposure

While the thought of mold may seem "icky" to some, mold is everywhere. Trees have mold spores and mold can grow in the damp areas of your basement. Mold exposure can cause health problems in many people, particularly those with compromised immune systems and children. Symptoms can range from minor sinus problems to nose bleeds and loss of memory. Many times patients will be treated for other diseases when they visit their doctor with these symptoms. Sometimes their symptoms have to get worse before mold is identified as the culprit. According the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, some structures have higher concentration of mold exposure than others. These structures include: Antique shops, Greenhouses, Saunas, Farms , Mills, Construction areas, Flower shops , Summer cottages. Mold has an odor and can also be seen in some instances. It can be removed with standard cleaning products but often does reoccur.
